Farmer Friday - PSA and Two Blocks edition

A quick announcement before the pic of the two blocks I got finished for the week.

Riley Blake was wonderful enough to send me some cuts of The Simple Life to play with.

It's such an adorable line. I'm not ashamed to say that I'm just a bit obsessed with the bunting fabric.

I've got a pincushion tutorial up today at the Cutting Corners site.

I know it's got nothing to do with Farmer's Wife blocks or Halloween fabric but I wanted to save myself some double posting today.

Right then.

Farmer Blocks.

Two for the week.

81 + 82:

FW 81 82 82 was frustrating enough to make me not want to do any blocks for the week. I kept having to take bits of it apart to correct some wonk.
The edges are still a little off but it measures 1/4" too big so I've got some trimming room to straighten it all out.

I'm not looking forward to the day where I trim the edges of the whole stack.

The Quilt that Would Never Be Finished

Threads need to be cut.

And it needs a good press.

Then there's that whole issue of quilting and binding.

But there is a ZZQAL top. Finished. In my living room.

(Because trekking out in the dark of winter seemed like a bad idea.)

Where does one take quilt photos at 7pm, anyway?

OMG a Finished ZZQAL top!

There's a dark blue row and a purple row that's really not showing.
And that's maybe half the width.

I just had to document this as soon as possible.

The ZZQAL top is done.

Those that have been with me for any amount of time know how huge that is.

I'm not ashamed to say that I'm outsourcing the quilting on this one.

It ended up massive (for me) at somewhere around 80" x 100".

I don't think my machine and I could handle it. Not for the type of quilting I have in mind.

So it'll be packed up this week and shipped off.

Wanna see my favorite part?

Taking the time to line up the Peep bodies:

My insane to-do list for the week suddenly seems a lot more manageable.

If I can finally finish this top, I think I can do anything.

Farmer Friday - Holiday Crazy Edition

I did not at all realize how much time the holidays would suck out of me this year.

Not at all.

In between fighting lines at the post office and saving the tree from Nomnom's wrath, I managed to sneak in two blocks this week.

FW 79 & 80:
FW 79 80

I'm trying to tell myself that the blue and orange will blend in with the crazy of the rest of the blocks.

Or that it'll grow on me.

Maybe?

One can hope.

Baaa?

That Letter B is still around...

Or maybe it should be letter S now for Santa Sheep.

Sometimes I doodle silly things and now after some encouragement from friends (and the Mr.) I'm turning them into embroidery patterns.

Santa Sheep!

This sheep came about after How It's Made had a special on Jojoba Oil.

For the next five minutes or so were filled with the Mr. saying "ho.......ho......baaaaaaa!"
Of course, I thought of Sheep. Sheep that dreamed of being Santa.

A couple of doodles and some test hoops later.

And now there's a Santa Sheep.

Baaa.
