WiP Wednesday - One Year Giveaway Edition

Oh man y'all.
It's here. It's here.

I'm going to seriously try to not be sappy 'cause I know y'all love me more when I'm crazy/sassy/sleep deprived. Right?
Right.

I thought about making two separate posts today but I love WiP Weds. And it's one of the things that's kept me motivated to at least make *one* post a week so of course I wanted to wrap it and the beginning of my blogiversary celebration all together.

One Year!

A year ago today I made my first post. It was supposed to start on the 1st...but I missed it. (In fact I joked yesterday about that theme).

This lil' space of mine has really helped me to figure out where I want to go and what I want to do with myself.
It's given me a reason to hoard more fabric.

And more importantly it's made me feel connected.
So thank you. For that part. I look forward to what y'all have to say every. single. day.

No sappiness! Time for the roundup and then I'll announce the first giveaway (I'm so cruel. Just scroll really fast until you see the big bold letters. It's okay. I'll forgive you for skipping everything).

Roundup:

Completed!:

Be-zoo-eled:

Be-zoo-eled
Totally counting this as finishes as I'm sending it off to get backed/quilted/bound. Full post about it here.

Ongoing:

Bottled Rainbows:
Cutting solids for Bottled Rainbows
Got my solids cut this week. It'll be nice to see the blocks come together soon.
I'm seriously worried that I don't have enough scraps for this. And then I remember the scary-full scrap bucket.
I'm sure I'm going to be short on some colors tho'.

No Progress This Week:
Cosmic Burst
Cranberry Commission
Game Quilt
Patchwork Prism

By all appearances I didn't do anything this week. But I did! I did! It's all just been a lot of giveaway/tutorial/celebration prep. My hard work will be popping up the rest of this week.

Coming Soon:
Farmer's Wife
ZZQAL
Vintage
Swoon
Tardis
Pattern Holder Repeat

Completed:1
New: 0
WiP: 11

GIVEAWAY #1!

Whew. You made it. I'm so proud. Even if you scrolled through all the above I'm still proud. ;)

I've got three giveaways planned in celebration of my blog lasting a whole year.
And today's might just possibly be my fave.

You see. I ordered a book. Then I ordered two of them.
So that I could give one to you.

Giveaway Book
You've seen this book right? I certainly hope so!

Also. As long as I remember to tweet her and remind her when the authors of the book are all together at Quilt Market I'll be able to send the winner along a signed bookplate.

Book + bookplate (to be sent at a later date..unless the winner wants me to wait until I have both).

I've been so busy I've honestly barely had the time to really sit down with this book. But I've already found something I'm absolutely in love with.

This quilt needs to be in my life. Katy calls it Orange Soda. I kinda wanna make one in purple. And call it Grape Soda. ...I know...I'm so clever.

I love this thing so much I almost want to bug her and see if I can do a QAL. Maybe.
We'll see.

Love this quilt.

That's just one *page* in this book. It's filled with full quilts and single blocks and just pure awesome.  I'll be pulling a lot of inspiration from here (and prolly my next bee block).

Want it?

This giveaway is open to international entries!

How to Enter:
1) Leave me a comment - You don't have to be a follower or anything. Just say hi. Or tell me your favorite kind of cake. Or if you had a pet monkey..what would you name it?
(My monkey is named Gogonuts. Just in case you were wondering. )

2) EXTRA ENTRY - Followers New and Old - I really do feel like I couldn't have made it a year without y'all. So if you follow and want an extra chance to win - Let me know in a separate comment.
New here and wanna see more crazy? Hit that follow button. New followers can leave a comment as well. And I will shower all of you with imaginary cookies.

I'm just gonna leave it with those two options to keep things simple.
Giveaway will be open until 11:59 PM Weds. May 9th.
Mr. Random will be picking all my winners.

So that's it for #1.

Giveaway #2 will be on Thursday. (Update: It's here
Giveaway #3 will be on Friday. 'Cause Farmer's Wife is back. Finally. (Update: It's here)

  1. Congrats on 1 year! Be-zoo-eled is beautiful with great colors!

And I think a grape soda quilt sounds awesome! Thanks for the chance at a giveaway!

  2. Loving those rainbow colours - favourite cake has got to be carrot cake. A monkey? Hmmm I'd rather not, but if we had one, it would have to be called "Monkey" (or PG - I think I may have watched too many PG Tips ads........)

  3. I'll admit I'm a newbie here, followed the giveaway link from Katy but I'm loving your site. I was meant to start on a similar journey on 1st of Jan but I've only managed 2 posts. Hoping for some inspiration to start blogging :) Cake = Hot chocolate fudge cake, with cream & ice-cream (got to have both) Monkey = George (even tho that's my cats name too).

  4. What a beautiful blog :D I'm loving the 'Grape Soda' idea, I think it will look amazing ^_^ My favourite cake... if I have to choose is........... brownies.... or double chocolate chip muffins... Hmm. As for my monkey, it would be called Gomez! Just because it popped into my head and I liked it :D

  7. Yay for 1 year. Congrats and loving the quilt top. I Love cake too much! And unfortunately I love too many types of cake to mention! I don't think I could ever have a monkey after seeing how vicious they can be when I traveled Asia but if the boys ever have a make believe monkey we might call him Burt!
