Bloggers' Quilt Festival - First Year

It wasn't hard to decide what quilt to feature up at the Bloggers' Quilt Festival.

I've really only *completed* two quilts this year.

Sheesh.

Lots of things up in the air. Lots of stuff listed on WiP Wednesdays. Lots of work going on behind the magic curtain.

Two complete.
Only one of these was for me.

And I love it.

Kaleidoscope Quilt Along at Don't Call Me Betsy

It's wonky.
It gave me fits.

I'm still partially convinced it broke my machine.

But it's mine. Its the first quilt that I did on my own without getting my mother to help with any part of it. It lives on my couch and gets fought over by me and my cat.

My cat wins more often then I'd like to admit.

It's my first year being part of this online blogging community. It hasn't even really been a year for me. Just under six months. And every day I'm inspired. And motivated. I love seeing the gorgeous finishes. And I love when projects go wrong because then I don't feel so bad when I'm hurling my own projects across the room.

Here's hoping next year I have more than two finishes under my belt.

  1. Your quilt rocks and I know the pain of fighting a cat for a quilt!

  3. Well yay for your first all alone finish. My mother is a wonderful person, a great knitter and embroiderer, but for other sewing, not so much. Still, she does a great line in holding up massive amounts of quilt off my gran's kitchen floor when I add a border to it ;o)
